No Fee Free Credit Card Offer
By Credit Federal | Published 03/24/2009
Is it really a no fee, free credit card, or only free if certain terms and conditions are followed?

In addition to knowing if; and when, fees are applied, consumers should also be aware of credit cards that have too many extra charges for services such as creating the account, monthly management and credit limit increases. Secured cards for consumers with bad credit often have such outrageous costs. They require a deposit and purchases are made up to the deposit unless most of the deposit is applied toward fees. Having to pay more simply to maintain a card is what should be avoided.

Search for no deposit credit card offers.

Not all credit cards are free from fees. Read the terms and conditions associated with the card. Consumers needing to rebuild credit or those who need to establish credit are vulnerable to the lures of credit card companies. Fees usually depend on the type of card and the consumer's credit type. Cards with higher interest rates may be the only choice if credit scores are bad.

To improve credit, seek out a card with reasonable fees and one that reports to all three credit bureaus. It is the reporting of good payment habits over time that leads to better credit scores which allows you to apply for a credit card with good terms. Don't choose cards with a high APR (annual percentage rate) - the interest rate added to balances carried from one month to the next month.

Prepaid cards require money to be deposited first in order for purchases to be made, up to the total balance amount. This can be a good choice when you don't have a checking account and you want to avoid finance charges. In addition, you never have to worry about having to make minimum payments every month and risk late fees.
