Christmas Credit Card Rewards
By Credit Federal | Published 11/13/2008
Will you shop with cash, a retail charge card or an unsecured credit card? Or will you avoid Christmas credit card debt by using layaway?

Due to the bad economy, retail sales are already sluggish; and as credit card companies become more restrictive on approvals, stores fear a dismal Christmas shopping season. One thing is almost for certain... consumers who have either cash or a line of credit will likely see spectacular sales deals as retailers slash prices in the competition for business. Consumers lacking upfront cash can still take advantage of sales with layaway plans, yet the best discounts aren't likely to appear until the final days before; and after, Christmas. Hence those consumers who have credit cards or last minute cash may enjoy the best shopping discounts.

Although the credit reins have tightened, competition still remains between credit card issuers as well. They also want to enjoy the profits of high transactions and the fees they charge to retailers. When retailer sales are low, so are credit card company profits. The tip to consumers is to also watch for credit card offers, because even those consumers who have available cash may find it more rewarding to shop with a credit card offering cashback or other discounts.

Browse and apply online for your Christmas credit card rewards.
