TransUnion Free Credit Report Monitoring
By Credit Federal | Published 06/1/2008
Credit Checks: When you got a credit report copy, you don't always get your credit score, too.

Many consumers are not aware that free credit reports do not always include the actual credit score. But, due to a TransUnion lawsuit settlement, many consumers will be entitled to both a free credit report and a credit score. TransUnion; one of the three major credit bureaus, settled a lawsuit involving an FCRA violation of selling consumer information.

Who's eligible to benefit from this lawsuit settlement? Anyone who had an open credit account in the U.S. between January 1, 1987 to May 28, 2008 will receive up to 9 months of TransUnion's credit monitoring service for free. By June 16, consumers can determine their eligibility and file claims by visiting listclassaction.com or calling (866) 416-3470.
