Gas Credit Card Rewards
By Credit Federal | Published 05/26/2008
With fuel prices high, everyone can use some financial assistance. Gas credit card rewards can offer some relief via cash back.

Filling up the gas tank is expensive and the cost could get worse. Using a gas rewards credit card may offset some of the cost if you have a good rewards rate, but you'll need to tacticly manage your credit.

Whether or not you use a gas credit card, your gas cost is going to be the same. So why not get a gas card if the rewards will offset your cost?

How a gas card help: If; for example, it costs you $80 to fill up your tank and you have to fill up weekly, your total fuel bill comes to $320 per month. With a 5% cashback rewards card, you'd earn $16 per month ($192 per year).

But remember: If your gas rewards credit card has a high interest rate and you don't payoff balances in full each month, the interest you pay may decrease or even completely void any rewards you earn.
