6 Month Personal Loan Question
By Credit Federal | Published 03/9/2008
A CreditFederal.com visitor asks for advice regarding a 6 month personal loan.

Question: "What would you suggest as a best source for a personal loan of 3500 for a 6 month term?  For the last 18 months, my car loan and credit cards have been paid on time."

Response: Currently, the only online lenders we are aware to recommend are short-term, payday loans. For long term, interest-based unsecured loans, we recommend your local bank. If your auto loan was issued by a bank which also offers personal loans, perhaps they will fund a cash loan in view of your timely loan repayments. Another option would be to refinance your auto loan (if your auto has adequate equity). Please note; however, that an auto refinance loan typically has higher interest than the original, new auto loan. Nonetheless, it will likely accrue less interest than; for example, a credit card cash advance.
