According to a Omnibus survey conducted nationwide for MasterCard Advisors Global Cardholder Services, more Americans prefer vacations at warm sunny beaches.

The survey consisted of more than 1,100 U.S. adults, which asked their vacation travel preferences. 29% stated they preferred warm weather and beaches, with camping, spas and playing golf trailing behind.

The beach preference was not specific to any age, income level, nor gender group. Desitinations catering to children came in second at 12%, with historical, cultural destinations coming in third at 10%.

Dreams and Reality: 69% of respondents chose U.S. travel destinations, although 65% said they preferred exoctic locations such as Australia or New Zealand.
